While the rest of the corps went on to Rockford, the drum line took a detour. We went to Chicago where Fred Sanford gave us a tour of the Ludwig Drum Factory. That was awesome! We got to see how the drums are made from beginning to end. Afterwards we got to play a standstill performance for the Ludwig employees so they could see what people are doing with their product. They seemed to really enjoy it. Maybe they were just glad to get an extra 30 minute break.
By the time we got to Rockford, we were running late so we did not get a full warm-up. Because of the, we did not play a particularly good show. We tied with SCV and Bridgemen in Execution and got shafted in P.A. again (6.1 to 7.6 for Bridgemen). Got screwed in Brass too (7th). I think we should have beaten Madison but instead, ended up 5th behind Bridgemen.
